Had my day 12 sonogram today. Very promising, since the last time I took Clomid, I ovulated on day 12. Oops. So that cycle I never did have the follow-up sonogram and never did get to see what my follies were up to.
So I went in this morning for my date with the dildocam. Luckily for me, a visiting resident was following Dr. Charmin around, and she had the aplomb to place herself directly in front of my cooter. Nice going, Ms. Resident-Tourist, hope you enjoyed the view. We aim to please.
The sono showed a few follicles in competition for the main spot. Two on the right measuring 14 and 13.5, one on the left measuring only 9.5. Lining was at 7.5 mm. So it looks like ovulation is at least a couple of days away. I really have no idea how normal it is, or not, to have follies of those sizes at day 12. Some times I feel like I'm not getting straight answers from Dr. Charmin about how bad or good my response to treatment is. So do you know?
In the meantime, I've been instructed to keep testing with my OPKs. When I went to the store yesterday to replenish my stock, they only had some new fancy-ass digital version of the Clear Blue OPKs. Did you hear that? DIGITAL! A little electronic happy face (oh how simply adorable - *blech*) shows up when a surge is detected. Theoretically, this is the most exciting invention since those Gal Pal deodorant removers (which have mercifully put an end to my habit of walking around with enormous white streaks on all my black shirts -- very attractive.)
I mean, think of not having to decipher those fucking blue lines! I have been driven to the edge on more than one occasion trying to tell if the line was as dark, almost as dark, a little bit darker, etc. etc. Staring at those sticks would put me in a hallucinatory trance, where the dark reference line became a little stick figure with a thick German accent and metal-toed boots, yelling at me to pay attention, while the fainter blue test line became a dancing girl twirling around in chiffon, tra-la-la-ing through the bathroom while I... WENT... INSANE.
Imagine not having to endure that, and simply looking for the happy face. Rather than having to become familiar with every shade of blue in the color spectrum, I could spend my time reading, gardening, cooking, doing charity work, negotiating peace treaties, inventing cures for infertility. I mean, this is BIG.
However, at this point, I don't know if I trust these new-fangled digital OPKs. New technology always means new opportunities for errors. So, just in case, I'm planning on using both the old and new sticks because, yes, I'm anal like that. But you already knew that, didn't you?
Sounds like you are responding to CLomid very very nicely! I'll be thinking about you, my favorite crustaceon. Good luck!

I had an ultrasound today and have a few lowly and small follicles and I'm on CD 15. I have another ultrasound scheduled for Friday which should be followed-up with a trigger shot.
I'll have to keep checking up on your progress since you are at the same point as I am in your cycle. Good luck on this one!!

Wow...good progress. I think they want those puppies bigger than 18...but I'm not 100%. Let me know on the new fangled stuff...I still don't trust it myself :)

Sounds great! Wishing you all the best for this cycle! And yes, I would use both OPK's too. Just in case..

I don't trust those electronic ones. I bought some HPTs one time, and I don't know if I peed on it too much or not enough, but it said "error" every time. $15 down the drain.

Best of luck to you and the follicles!
The smiley face would creep me out. Usually a positive OPK signalled a massive argument in our house about something stupid. You know, to set the mood.
